A growing painting enterprise was managing their entire operations through a combination of phone calls, WhatsApp groups, and paper job sheets — and it was starting to break down. Jobs were being assigned verbally, leading to confusion about who was doing what. Field teams arrived at job sites without the right information. Customers were calling the office for updates that managers had to chase down from the crews. Scheduling conflicts were only discovered the morning of. The business had grown to a size where the informal approach wasn't scaling, and the founder needed a purpose-built operations platform — but had a tight timeline and a hard budget. Our Solution
We built Paint Ready as a hybrid web and mobile platform using Django on the backend and React for the management web interface, with a React Native mobile app for field teams. The platform centralizes every operational workflow: managers create jobs with full details (address, scope, photos, notes), assign them to teams, and set schedules from the dashboard. Field teams receive job assignments on their mobile app with all the details they need before arriving on site — no more morning phone calls. Status updates flow back in real time as crews mark jobs in-progress or complete. Management gets a live operational view of every active job and team at any given moment. Built-in team messaging keeps communication inside the platform and searchable. We shipped the full platform in 42 days, and the client acquired their first paying customer on the same week.
