The Challenge
A Philippines-based distribution company with a large and diverse product catalog was flying blind on inventory. Stock levels were tracked in spreadsheets that were always out of date — by the time a manager checked them, the numbers had already changed. The result was a constant cycle of stockouts on fast-moving items that caused lost sales and unhappy customers, offset by overstocking on slow movers that tied up working capital. With multiple warehouse locations, there was no way to see stock across the business without calling each site. Leadership had no reliable data to base purchasing decisions on — buying was reactive rather than planned.
Our Solution
We built an enterprise inventory management system using React and Django with real-time stock tracking at its core. Every stock movement — receipt, sale, transfer, adjustment — is recorded immediately and reflected across the system. Management sees live stock levels for every SKU at every warehouse location from a single dashboard, with drill-down by product category, location, or date range. The analytics layer tracks stock movement patterns over time, identifying fast movers, slow movers, and seasonal trends that inform smarter purchasing decisions. Automated low-stock alerts trigger before items reach critical levels, giving procurement teams time to act. Purchase order recommendations are generated automatically based on reorder points and lead times. The interface was designed for warehouse staff who aren't technical — minimal training required.
