The Challenge
The same Saudi Arabia government hospital in Riyadh that we built the Hospital Management System for had a separate and equally critical problem: their billing and insurance claims operation was broken. Claims were submitted manually, denial tracking was done on spreadsheets, and there was no integration with their Electronic Health Record system — which meant billing staff had to re-enter patient data by hand, introducing errors that led to claim rejections. Government audits required detailed compliance reporting that took days to compile. The administrative burden was unsustainable, and the financial impact of claim denials was significant.
Our Solution
We built a dedicated billing and claims management platform on React and Django, deployed on AWS with the same government-grade security posture as the HMS. The system integrates directly with the hospital's HL7 FHIR-compliant EHR — eliminating manual data re-entry by pulling patient and treatment data automatically into each claim. Pre-submission validation rules catch common denial triggers before the claim leaves the system. Denied claims are automatically flagged and routed to the right staff member for resolution with all supporting documentation attached. Compliance reports are generated on demand in government-required formats. A patient-facing portal handles appointment booking and insurance data management, reducing front-desk call volume substantially.
